Terry Dowling gives Margo Lanagan’s Red Spikes a good review in The Weekend Australian.

I noticed that he mistakenly credits Margo with being the only writer to have won a short story and collection WFA in the same year. I emailed him to let him know that it’s happened twice before: Jeff Ford and Gwyneth Jones made double plays.

So did Andy Duncan, with Beluthahatchie and “The Pottawottamie Giant”. It was the same year Dowling was up for both collection and story himself.

I was thinking of the story in the same collection but of course, you’re correct.
