So, you read ‘Notes from Coode Street’, you live in the United States, you read science fiction, and you’re wondering just what you can do make the day special. Well, there’s one thing you could do. Let me know if you’ve see The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year: Volume 1 in the wild. I know it’s out there, I know it’s selling well (very well!), but I’ve not actually seen a copy, and I’d love to know how it’s doing out in the stores. So, if you’ve seen a copy, let me know in the comments to this post. No need for photos, though that’d be cool — just a note to let me know that this whole publishing a book thing actually happened.
Jonathan, I saw a copy at a Borders here in Baltimore, MD. I’ve been pleased to see that they often carry the Night Shade books. I bought mine directly from Night Shade though.
Best,
Chris
Chris – Cool! Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for buying the book. I really appreciate it. NS do lovely books, so I’m betting it looks pretty good.
One spotted at a B&N in Birmingham, AL!
Cool! Is it pretty? And, we have stuff to work on.
A sighting at the Barnes & Noble in Asheville, NC. Looks beautiful. I’m going to start reading it tonight.
Nathan: Thanks for the head’s up from North Carolina. That’s terrific. Hope you like the book. And thanks for the support picking it up.
Sighted a copy at Borders in Dallas, Texas. Got mine through Amazon, though!
Spotted a pair cavorting on the shelves in the B&N in Towson, MD (just outside of Bawlmur).
It’s here in Youngstown, Ohio’s Barnes and Noble too. It’s really sharp looking too.
I saw it in B&N in Union Square, Manhattan the other day I do believe. I may have even seen it earlier in my trip in San Francisco (I went to the wonderful Borderlands and Other Change of Hobbit, oh to live in SF!) – actually yeah, I remember looking in the contents page; it was standing up on the new releases shelf in Borderlands I think, quite prominently.
It looks luffly.
Here in Fort Worth, TX, I saw a copy at the local Borders (but it’s gone cause I bought it!), and several copies just a few days ago at the local B&N.
oh yeah… wishing there was a nice hardcover of this book as well!
We visited Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland last week, and there were 2 copies in the (B&N run) student bookstore.
I’ve seen copies in both of the Borders near my house in suburban Detroit.
Roger
Found two copies on the shelf at the B&N in Oprylands Mall of Nashville, Tennessee. The counter person said that a copy sold earlier this week. I did not find any copies at the Hastings bookstore in Tellahoma, Tennesse. But it’s a smaller store that only has two sections worth of SF.
John: Thanks for the Dallas head’s up. Good to know it’s there.
Mike: Maryland has it! Neat.
Christopher: Youngstown. A town named after a Springsteen song, and it has my book. Very cool.
Peter: You’re a long way from home. I’d hope it’d be in Borderlands. The publisher works there! Good to know that it’s getting such good presentation though.
Brainshades: Thank you for buying the book. I really appreciate it. And yeah, a hardcover would be cool, but the tpb is nice too.
Roger: Cleveland, huh? I heard Cleveland rocks. I wish I’d been half the places this book has made it too.
Aaron: Thanks for buying the book. I appreciate it. You’re in Tennessee? Wow. Say hi to Kirsten for me.
I saw a copy at Borders, Riverside, CA. Already received mine in the mail a week or so ago from Night Shade.
I would like to second Brainshades, who is hoping for a hardcover.
… also spotted at the Johns Hopkins University Bookstore.
Neat! Thanks for the head’s up. How goes Howard’s book?
