Well, many thanks to Aaron and Charlie for their advice and recommendations. In the closing moments of the old tax year, I shot off an order and soon will be the proud owner of a Sony Reader. I won’t see it till I get to Oakland, but hopefully it’ll be the solution to my problems.

Oh, I think you’ll like it! I got mine a few weeks ago, and it’s fantastic.
I would suggest investing in the leather cover (about thirty dollars). It’s a lot nicer than the one that comes with the reader.
Too bad you won’t have it for the six thousand hours of plane travel to Oakland.
Heather – I’ve also been debating getting the power adapter. I’ll pick it up in Oakland on 1 August, and am eager to see what it’ll be like. I did get the leather cover too, which sounded like the right thing, so I’m happy to get your confirmation.
Aaron: You’re right. But I do have the travel to Denver, then 40,000 hrs home. And Calgary in October, so I’ll get use. I’m going to make sure I have stuff on the thumb drive, so I can fill it up and get it going. You can give me a tutorial when I’m there
