After a short break, we’re back! Gary travelled to Massachusetts to attend Readercon 23 and managed to persuade convention guests of honor Caitlin R. Kiernan and Peter Straub to join us to discussCaitlin’s most recent novel The Drowning Girl, writing, Readercon and much, much more. As always, we hope you enjoy the podcast!
Great podcast as always. Because of your earlier discussions I put Kiernan’s story collection on my Kindle and am thoroughly enjoying it. In today’s episode, Gary Wolfe mentioned a book about writing (in the talk about unreliable narrators), but I couldn’t quite make out the title and author in the audio. Could you let me know, so that I can hunt it up at the library?
Thanks! And thanks for all your chats. I love catching up on the latest cons and book releases while walking the dog or getting groceries.
@Rebecca: The book Gary mentions is Wayne Booth’s The Rhetoric of Fiction, in which Booth coined the term “unreliable narrator.” It’s a great book, if you’re into literary criticism.

Thanks! I’ll see if I can check it out at my local library.
