Every week Gary K. Wolfe and I sit down for about an hour to discuss science fiction and other stuff. Sometimes guests join us, and very occasionally, we have special podcasts.
You can subscribe to the podcast at iTunes, or download episodes directly from here. Here’s a quick list of them all:
Much as I enjoy Alistair Reynolds, the sound quality made it very difficult to listen. I presume the problem was with Skype, but it seems to be getting worse. Might I suggest you consider using zencastr ? It records each side locally on their computer, then combines the audio and sends the result to your Dropbox. No mess, no fuss. If everyone is using headphones you get a very nice result. Tests I did on KRAM-StuFf showed the auto level bAlancing produced a result better than hand processing. Seriously good quality without tech farting around. Clear instructions on their website, about ten minutes to setup the first test. Worth a test
Thanks for the head’s up. I’ll look into it.

Hello! Fellow bibliophiles!
I hope I’m not being rude, but I noticed that you had a manuscript of Tamsyn Muir’s ‘Gideon the Ninth’ and I was wondering if you’d be interested in trading it? I have a friend who is a huge fan of the series and I’d like to give her a meaningful present, as this is the last book she needs to finish her collection. As for a pleb like me I have no way of obtaining a manuscript, as I only have a small following on Instagram. I’ve emailed Tor and various other publishing companies but to no avail.
I totally understand if you’re not interested and once again I hope I’m not being rude.
I hope to hear from you guys soon. Have a great day and be safe!
Kind Regards,
Iris
Hi Iris – Alas, we do not have manuscripts for the book. I had a digital advanced review copy and that’s about all. I don’t know of any way, short of contacting the author’s representatives, of getting a manuscript. It’s very rare these days for physical manuscripts to be out in the world. Good luck though! Best, Jonathan
