Where most slipstream or interstitial anthologies I&#8217;d seen were touchy-feely, wishy-washy poorly thought out exercises, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Feeling-Very-Strange-Slipstream-Anthology\/dp\/189239135X\/ref=sr_1_1\/002-1297615-5341630?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1178843550&#038;sr=1-1\">Feeling Very Strang<\/a>e was smart, savvy, and very, very well edited.<\/p>\n<p>For that reason, and for that reason only, I was interested to see that Kelly and Kessel had agreed to edit a cyberpunk anthology. In all honesty, it didn&#8217;t seem to me that the world was exactly crying out for such a book, but given their track record, it seemed worth giving the book the benefit of the doubt.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the details are now online over at amazon.com, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Rewired-Post-Cyberpunk-James-Patrick-Kelly\/dp\/1892391538\/ref=sr_1_6\/002-1297615-5341630?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1178843123&#038;sr=1-6\">Rewired: the Post-Cyberpunk Anthology<\/a> looks very interesting indeed.  It basically seems to cover what happened to cyberpunk <em>after<\/em> Sterling&#8217;s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Mirrorshades-Cyberpunk-Anthology-Bruce-Sterling\/dp\/0441533825\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1\/002-1297615-5341630?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1178843760&#038;sr=1-1\">Mirrorshades<\/a> &#8211; cyberpunk after cyberpunk, if you like. All things considered, that&#8217;s an interesting idea. This one has gone straight on to my &#8216;must buy&#8217; list, and should be on yours too, if you&#8217;re at all interested in science fiction.
