in the summer of 1997, the best part of ten years ago, I suggested to my friend Simon Brown that we co-edit an anthology of new space opera stories, stories that somehow summed up what seemed like an exciting new movement that was happening in the field at the time. Ten years later, with Simon busy writing and Gardner added to the project, we’re approaching publication. There’ll be a real page here shortly, but for the moment, here’s the US cover for the book.
