Saw this news! I know it’s only brief, but it does seem like an outbreak of sanity.
SFBCs Original anthologies
I’ve been doing the Best Short Novels series with Andrew Wheeler at the SF Book Club for a while now, and it looks like I’ll be doing an original with him next year (I think – fingers crossed). He gives a brief but interesting history of SFBCs anthos here.

Conventions 2007
None of this is set in stone, but these are the conventions I’m planning on attending in 2007.
- Convergence 2 (8-11 June 2007)
- Conflux 4, Canberra (28 Sept – 1 Oct 2007)
- World Fantasy Convention 2007, Saratoga NY (1 – 4 Nov 2007)
The one I’m least likely to make is Convergence 2, but we’ll see.
World Fantasy Awards
The winners of the 2005 World Fantasy Awards have been announced. I have definite thoughts on the winners, agreeing with some and not with others. The main thing is that both the ballot and results were definitely credible, and I think the judges acquitted themselves very well indeed. Further than that I will not go, as I am bound the rules of the secret former World Fantasy Award judges cabal.
