Really good conversation, guys.
When Paolo was talking at first about his book, I did wonder in my head if he had read Cadillac Desert (I should not have been surprised, it is a touchstone). I seem to recall another story, whose author escapes me, where LA and Denver get into a fight that originated over water rights. (I want to say Michael Swanwick, but I am unsure)
The story about Denver vs. Los Angeles water rights pre-dates Michael Swanwick. It’s “The Luckiest Man in Denv” by C.M. Kornbluth from way back in 1951.
