Anyone out there using the Sony Book Reader? I have had someone recommend it to me, and am looking for other views.

I saw one in a Borders last week. Didn’t look too bad: nice and small and book-shaped. The screen takes a while to redraw (it seemed like a couple of seconds), but it looked very readable. It would certainly be a great way to read the PDF version of F&SF, etc, but I decided the price was a little to high for me at the moment.
While I wouldn’t pretend that it doesn’t have any flaws I find that it’s very easy on the eyes.
As already mentioned, Borders has ’em and it should be on display. Put your hands on it and see what you think.
I’ll have to wait till I get to the States in October to check ’em out. I don’t think they’re out in Australia yet.
I may be wrong on this but I think that currently Sony is only providing this product to Japan and the US.
Sony of course has their own eBook store and if/when you see the Reader at a Borders it will be displaying a book which is in the format used by the Sony eBook store.
It may be nothing more than licensing that has prevented the Reader from being offered in more markets. If Sony can’t offer their eBook store then they don’t want to sell the Reader. That’s just speculation on my part though.
