Gary and I fired up the podcasting paraphernalia connecting Coode Street directly to East Cedar Ave, and spent time talking about Jo Walton, her novel Among Others, Niall Harrison’s Top 10 SF Novels by Women, and other stuff. As always, enjoy!

There was birthday cake to be had so Gary was on a plane and off to sunny Camden Town in the UK, leaving snowbound Chicago in his wake, where he sat down with John Clute (of The SF Encyclopedia and other fame)  and Cheryl Morgan (of Salon Futura) and we all discussed cockroach quantums, cozy apocalypses, and seeing genre as a lens rather than a box (or something like that), and everyone expressed themselves with admirable equipoise!

After some technical hitches and interruptions, which lead to a classic (no, really, classic) Lost Podcast, Gary and I fire up Skype and talk about old farts, anthologies, Hugos and stuff.

As the weather turned towards the late fall in Chicago and the excoriating heat of early summer in Perth, we jumped back into the pod to discuss 2010, recommended lists and what they mean, ebooks, and all sorts of other stuff. As always, enjoy! We’ll be back next weekend.

And we found him! Gary returned from the wilds of Louisiana where he seems to have suffered through awesome parties, excellent musical performances, and wonderful meals to join me in the Pod to discuss his adventures in New Orleans, Neil Gaiman, a science fiction sense of community, ending the year in SF, whether Lois McMaster Bujold writes hard science fiction, and why we don’t know who the nominees were for the 1956 Hugo Awards.
