Well, Gary is off in the wilds of New Orleans for matters celebratory, enjoying good food and better company while I was at home in Perth slaving over a hot anthology. In the interests of podcasty goodness, I called up Tany Rayner Robers from the Coode Street Feminist Advisory Committee and we discussed the year in short fiction. Was it a good year, a bad year, or something else?

And we’re back. Gary’s safely at home in Chicago, I’m back in Perth (facing insane and disappointing deadlines), and we’re podcasting the way we were meant to – long distance! We discuss the World Fantasy Awards and other such things. Enjoy!

Live from the Locus/Twelfth Planet Press in the World Fantasy Convention 2010 dealer’s room, Gary and I chat with Alisa, Karen and Francesca about World Fantasy, women at conventions, and all sorts of other stuff. The countdown to Columbus and World Fantasy is one. Less than two weeks till I get there, and with deadlines bearing down Gary and I fired up Skype and discussed the World Fantasy Awards, mortality, the AUS/USD exchange rate, The Hobbit getting the green light, and, in response to a follow-up question in comments, even more on novellas.  We hope you enjoy.

On a related note, I’ll be travelling next weekend so we’re not sure if we’ll get a podcast recording session, but we will make every effort to do so. And if we don’t, we’ll make up for it in Columbus!
