The word from far north Queensland is that the nominees for most of the Aurealis Awards have been announced. To my great delight, six of the stories from Eidolon have been shortlisted for the Awards. Congratulations to all of the nominees, and especially to Eidolon’s authors. A special extra shout out to Shaun Tan, who managed to get nominated for best short story with a work that features no words!
Speaking of Eidolon, I’ve finally asked Infinitas, out in Parramatta, to hold a copy for me as I’m going in to meet Al Reynolds on January 6th. Galaxy still feign ignorance of it (well, they think they have some on order, but who knows really…?) and I haven’t seen it *anywhere* in Sydney, or pretty much anywhere else on my travels.
So I was wondering, it is “really” out yet? At least I’ll get my copy in a couple of weeks now!
The book is definitely out. It was published in August, and anyone can order copies through Slow Glass, who are distributing it here in Australia. A USian edition will be published by Wildside Press early in the New Year.
