Starting with the January issue of Locus (#600!!!!!), you will be able to either purchase single issues or subscribe in all sorts of nifty digital formats. I was given a sneek peek at the new digital edition format using the December issue as a prototype, which you can see above on my Kindle, and was quite impressed.
I want to give major props to Locus editor-in-chief Liza Groen Trombi. This was something that has been on our plate for years, and which Charles I know struggled to work out a solution to. It’s been Liza’s baby over the past year, and getting it to this point is a major, major achievement. The future is coming! You can find out more about Locus Digital Editions here.
That’s a great photo! And how exciting! It looks brilliant!
The details aren’t public yet, but I think this will be an enormous boon for overseas subscribers especially.
Bloody brilliant. I note that ASIM has started producing pdf copies of their mag, just waiting for Aurealis to do the same.
I believe there will be .PDF, .epub, and .mobi versions, though I’m not sure exactly when everything will be rolled out. It’s worth checking http://www.locusmag.com for more information as it becomes available.
Overseas subscribers, definitely. I intend to get it.
