A mixed morning, good folk. Movement at last on the Godlike Machines front. For those of you who have been wondering, it looks like the book will now come out in January, 2010. I hope to see cover images and so on shortly. It’s going to be a joy to see this book published. I’m very proud of it. More as soon as I have it.
There was some unmitigated good news, too. Kage Baker has been nominated for the French Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire for her novelette “Maelstrom” from The New Space Opera.
Other than that, I’m reading, reading, reading – and waiting for my Beatles box set to arrive!
I couldn’t wait for the Beatles boxed set to arrive, so I ran up and down between different stores, and they were sold out at both places I was referred to. So I just grabbed the entire armful of individual titles from the shelf. This was a mere three days after the advertised release, and I was very happy that they were already available.
That’s the fourth time I’ve bought the entire Beatles core catalogue, with the exception of the Revolver tape, which I couldn’t find way back in 1981.
It’s a joyful occasion for me, because the discs are at last presented with the care, value for money and attention to detail they deserve. Also, it’ll probably be the last time I buy them.
Jonathan is just a bit young to have been around when these recordings first came out – nice to see he’s a fan, too. :)
